This sync only works for regular non-subscription products, as Big Cartel does not support syncing subscription data.
Create a product in Big Cartel
First, create a product in Big Cartel and call it something like “Subscription”. This product will be a non-renewing subscription, so in the description explain how many issues are included in the subscription, and set a price.Set up in Subsail
Go to Add a source and select Big Cartel. You will be presented with three steps:- Specify which products in your shop are subscriptions and their details
- Import past orders, which Subsail will convert into subscription data
How Subsail converts sales into subscriptions
Subsail will receive notifications from Big Cartel when you make a sale. When these notifications come in, Subsail will look for the products you imported during the connection process. If it sees any in your order notifications, it will create subscriptions and subscribers in your account based on the details Big Cartel provides.Managing subscriptions in Subsail
After the Big Cartel data has arrived in Subsail and the subscription and subscriber records have been created, you can manage them as you would any other subscription in Subsail. Subscribers can also manage their details, such as postage address and email address, from within their account at<your-magazine>.subsail.com/login.
Subscriber details updated in Subsail will not be synced back to Big Cartel. For subscriptions, always consider subscriber data in Subsail as the most up-to-date.
